Star Wars episode V the Empire Strikes Back movie review
Honest review by me
That’s
right I didn’t watch the 1982 version, the first time I watched the movie was
in 2002/2003. However to celebrate the upcoming episode VII in 2015, I
re-watched the movie last night and let’s do the review about it.
For me
this is the best Star Wars movie from the original trilogy and I only watched
one prequel The Phantom Menace, and this is still better. Luke Skywalker (Mark
Hamill) and Han Solo (Harisson Ford) were joined the rebellion helping Princess
Lea (Carrie Fisher) to fight the evil Empire. After the destruction of the
Death Star, Imperial Troops determined to destroy the Rebel in every corner of
the galaxy. After the first encountered against the imperial troops, Luke
decided to find a Jedi Master to train him to become a Jedi. Event after event
which I won’t spoil led Luke to face Darth Vader, the leader of the imperial
troop, but things seemed to get complicated after Luke found out one of the
biggest revelation in the movie history.
Han
Solo and Darth Vader are my favorite characters in the movie. Han solo was like
a cowboy in space, he was fun, likeable and also badass. Harisson Ford really
nailed that character perfectly, he even invented some unscripted dialogue
himself. In other hand Darth Vader was one of the most memorable villain in the
movie history. As the corrupted Jedi who was joined the dark side, we could
feel his dark persona. He’s menacing, cruel and powerful. The fact that we
couldn’t see his face made him even more mysterious. Mark Hamill and Carrie
Fisher also did their job great.
The
re-mastered version added some scenes and improved the sound and picture
qualities. I wont talk about the effect because as we know this is a landmark
and pioneer in computer and special effects. Even though some hardcore fans
didn’t like some addition scenes, the movie as a whole still a great movie. I
will wait what JJ Abrams can do in the episode VII.
