Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter movie review

Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter movie review
Honest review by me

When the first time I saw the title, I was like WOW, so this is the “side story” of the 16th President of the US.  To be honest I don’t really know the director of this movie Timur Bekmambetov until I googled him after watching this movie. Turned out he was the director of Wanted, I enjoyed Wanted a little bit more than this movie.
Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter was about the side story and of course fictinional side story of Abraham Lincoln (Benjamin Walker). He determined to hunt Vampires who killed his family and even after he was elected to be a President, his Vampire problem was still not over. Vampires in this movie weren’t just about brutality and he hunted them, no. It was much bigger than that, the Vampires actually played big part in the civil war apparently.
This movie had some cool fighting scene I can say you that, however it took time to see the President kicked some asses. It was mostly about his young age before he was elected to be a President. Benjamin Walker did great potraying a badass hunter. Marry Todd Lincoln (Mary Elizabeth Winstead) only played small part in the movie, such a waste of talent if you asked me. The character who I liked the most was Henry Stooges (Dominic Cooper) he was like his mentor hunting vampires until the not-so-surprising twist revealed something about him, so Lincoln abandoned him  and went his separate way. Cooper’s acting was great, he was cool and obviously a badass himself. However the movie itelf as a whole wasn’t that great, it sure enjoyable but nothing memorable. I don’t remember anything about the scoring or sound effect, but it’s probably because what I really wanted was to see The President killing Vampires. And this movie like I stated before took time before he was elected and once he was elected we still had to wait until he picked up his axe again. Im gonna say this movie was enjoyable but not for the ones who wanted a great story, no this is not for you

Star Wars The Force Awakens Trailer

Star Wars The Force Awakens Trailer
It’s been a while since I posted my review to the Empire Strikes Back in this blog. Now the episode seven of the classic trilogy will come on December this year. They say that this movie will ignore all the spin off which doesn’t matter to me since I never watched or read the spin off and bring old cast Han Solo (Harrison Ford), Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) and Princess Leia (Carrie Fisher) and added some new fresh actors/actresses. The Teaser Trailer looks tasty with that new Lightsaber which everyone seems to hate. I love it.
I’m definitely looking forward to this movie. What is up with that title The Force Awaken? Is the Force asleep or something? Can’t wait to find out what is really going on.

Jurassic World Trailer

Jurassic World Trailer
Yap here we go the sequel to the beloved franchise. Jurassic Park will come to the big screen this year. This time the park is now open and the implication from the trailer shows that the scientist once again mess with nature by creating a hybrid dinosaur that apparently will cause some big troubles. The synopsis and trailer don’t show much besides showing the park and this mysterious new dinosaur’s shadow. I’m looking forward to see this movie since I love Jurassic park franchise even those sequels that everyone seems to hate, I love them. Here is the trailer.

Avengers age of ultron preview

Avengers age of ultron preview

New Avengers movie Age of Ultron will come to the theater on June this year. After watching the trailers I decide that I will be there on the first day. As a big fan of Marvel Cinematic Universe and Superhero movie, this is the moment that I’ve been waiting for. I loved the first movie I think it was awesome. This second movie is about Tony stark (Robert Downey Jr) who made Ultron, a super sophisticated robot as the protector of the earth, instead it is somehow corrupted and become the greatest threat of the earth. Once again The avengers must assemble together to stop the threat and hopefully save the world.
Many things I like from this upcoming movie, first there will be two new members, Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen) and Quicksilver (Aaron Taylor-Johnson) probably one more, Vision (Paul Bettany) is confirmed to join the cast. Joss Whedon as the director stated that this movie will be darker than before. Secondly there is chance that this movie is going to set the upcoming Captain America Civil War story line. Also who doesn’t like the Hulkbuster suit fighting the Hulk? It’s going to be awesome. The last we’re probably going to see another hero as cameo who still a mystery.
I’m looking forward to see this movie and hopefully will surpass its first installment. So far Joss Whedon has never disappointed me. He blew my mind with the first and he will do the same with this one (hopefully)

The Hobbit Battle of The Five Armies review

The Hobbit Battle of The Five Armies review
Honest review by me

As a big fan of middle-earth saga and Tolkien I wanted to review this movie  a few weeks ago when I first watched it in December 2014, but I didn’t have time so I decided to re-watched it again last night to refresh my memory, so here we go. The Hobbit Battle of The Five Armies is the last installment in the hobbit trilogy. The story continued after the company of the Dwarves led by Thorin Oakenshield (Richard Armitage) and one Hobbit Bilbo Baggins (Martin Freeman) managed to drive out Smaug the dragon away from Erebor. Smaug with his fury decided to destroy Lake Town not far from Erebor and the people of Lake Town must face the cause of Smaug’s anger. However another problem appeared, forces from many directions turned their eyes to Erebor with their own purposes.
This is my less favorite movie of the trilogy, I was expecting more. Firstly let me point out that this movie lacked emotional moments. The moments that supposed to be emotional were not executed well enough. The main battle tried to be grand and epic but sadly it wasn’t, instead I cringed several times due to the cartoonish CGI and over-the-top action scene not to mention the battle itself was forgettable. The Lord of the Rings has over-the-top action scene granted but it’s still believable to me as it is a fantasy movie. You know a fantasy movie is questionable if even a big Fantasy fan and Tolkien fanboy like me says nope.

Fortunately the sound effect, acting, and scoring of this movie were great. Richard Armitage shined in this movie as his character showed greed and being a douchebag to others. He delivered his character nicely. My favorite character Bilbo didn’t have much screen time in this last movie (kinda ironic) but when Martin Freeman had it, he delivered it perfectly. However my favorite scene was when the white council confronted Sauron and his minions and there was a nice battle between Galadriel (Cate Blanchet), Saruman (Christopher Lee) and Elrond (Hugo Weaving) versus the Nine shortly after they succeeded rescuing Gandalf (Ian McKellen). Gandalf played big part in this movie as he should be and Sir Ian, well as usual he IS Gandalf so no one questioned his acting. The sound effect and scoring when Smaug attacked Lake Town were very addictive. The rest of the movie didn’t hold a candle to its previous installment The Desolation of Smaug. As a whole this movie was only a little bit better than average, sadly I have to be honest Peter Jackson lost his touch this time.
